BoldData is now CompanyData
We rebranded from BoldData to CompanyData.com in 2025. Same team, same registry-sourced business directory, simpler name. Same Amsterdam headquarters, same API, same contracts, same data quality. If you found us searching for BoldData, you are in the right place. Read the full rebrand press release for context, or scroll down for what's new since the rename and a fair comparison against the rest of the B2B business data market.
Why we renamed BoldData to CompanyData
On 14 July 2025 we announced that BoldData had become CompanyData.com. The reason was straightforward. For more than a decade we have done one thing well: deliver verified, registry-sourced business data at scale. The old name was memorable, but it did not say what we did. The new name does. CompanyData.com is simple, but powerful. It is exactly what we sell, exactly what our customers search for, and exactly what shows up on an invoice or a procurement form.
Nothing structural changed. Same founders, same team, same Amsterdam headquarters at Vijzelgracht 53D, same offices in Berlin, same data, same contracts. Existing customers kept their API keys, their bulk data schedules and their account managers. Every BoldData URL now redirects to its CompanyData.com equivalent. The full reasoning is laid out in the original press release.
If you arrived here searching for "BoldData" or "BoldData alternatives", the most important thing to know is this. We are BoldData. We just go by a clearer name now. The product you may have been comparing has not gone away. It has improved, and it is sold under a name that explains itself.
What's new at CompanyData (formerly BoldData)
The rebrand was paired with a meaningful upgrade to the product. Four changes are worth flagging if you last evaluated BoldData more than a year ago.
Deeper financials. We now ship deep filed financials on 111M+ businesses, sourced from the same official registries we use for the rest of the directory. That covers revenue, balance sheet items, employees and multi-year history wherever the local registry publishes them. For finance, credit and underwriting teams, the depth is materially better than what BoldData shipped in earlier years.
New API and new pricing. The CompanyData API launched alongside the rename, with self-service tiers starting from $25 per month and no annual contract. Combined with our existing bulk data and platform delivery options, that makes us the lowest-priced major B2B data API on the market. The simplest way to test it is to request a free CSV sample on your exact criteria.
Dubai office. We opened a Middle East presence in Building A1, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis to support customers across the MENA region directly. That sits alongside our Amsterdam headquarters and our Berlin office.
Same registry-first business directory under a new name
For existing BoldData customers and anyone evaluating us based on older BoldData reviews, the core product is what it always was. We cover 385M+ businesses across 190+ countries, with the data sourced directly from official government registries rather than scraped, aggregated or crowdsourced. That sourcing is what makes registration numbers, VAT numbers, directors, UBOs and registered addresses audit-ready out of the box.
The biggest single-jurisdiction sources are the ones our customers rely on every day. The Dutch KvK for the Netherlands. The UK Companies House for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The German Handelsregister for DACH. Infogreffe for France. USA Secretaries of State and equivalent sources for the United States. Plus dozens of national registries for the rest of the 190+ country footprint.
Delivery is unchanged. REST API for systematic queries, bulk CSV for one-off lists and a self-service platform for ad-hoc lookups. The brand on the invoice is new. Everything underneath is the same product BoldData customers signed up for, with the improvements above layered on top.

Best BoldData alternatives in 2026 (if you want to compare us against the market)
If you found BoldData and are now looking at alternatives, the first thing to note is that we are BoldData, just renamed. CompanyData.com is the same business, the same team and the same registry-sourced business directory you were probably already evaluating. For most BoldData buyers, the right answer is to compare us against ourselves under the new name and the new pricing, rather than walking away to a different provider.
That said, an honest defensive page has to give you the market lineup. Here are the ten providers we are most often compared against, with a short, fair read on each. Click through for a dedicated comparison against any of them.
1. CompanyData.com (formerly BoldData)
The continuation of BoldData under a clearer name. 385M+ businesses across 190+ countries, 111M+ deep financials, all sourced directly from official registries like the Dutch KvK, UK Companies House and German Handelsregister. Delivery via REST API, bulk CSV or self-service portal. From $25 per month with no annual contract, the lowest-priced major B2B data API on the market. Reseller-friendly terms, free CSV samples on your exact criteria, and offices in Amsterdam, Berlin and Dubai. Best fit for product teams, fintechs, KYB onboarding functions and resellers who want registry-grade data without enterprise sales cycles.
2. Dun & Bradstreet
The legacy US heavyweight, with 500M+ business records, the D-U-N-S number system and the deepest US enterprise relationships in the industry. Strong on supply-chain risk, business credit and global AML programmes. The trade-off is enterprise-only pricing, restrictive multi-year contracts, restrictive reseller terms and an older API. For Fortune 500 procurement and US-led compliance, Dun & Bradstreet is hard to displace. For modern API-first integrations and reseller use cases, our pricing and terms are significantly more flexible. See the full comparison on the D&B alternatives page.
3. Crunchbase
Private-market intelligence focused on VC-backed startups, funding rounds, investors and founders. Strong on tech ecosystems and US-centric coverage, less complete on the broader registered-business universe. The API is good and modern. Pricing starts mid-market. For sales prospecting into tech and a view of who has just raised, Crunchbase is excellent. For registry-grade KYB or full-market business data, the coverage gap is real. Full comparison on the Crunchbase alternatives page.
4. Moody's Analytics (Orbis)
Built on the Bureau van Dijk acquisition, Orbis covers 625M+ businesses with the world's deepest private-business financials and cross-border ownership hierarchies. Gold standard for M&A due diligence, transfer pricing and beneficial ownership investigations. Enterprise-only pricing, restrictive licensing on data reuse, AI and reseller programmes. Deeper than us on ownership hierarchies. We are cheaper, faster to integrate and easier to license. Full comparison on the Moody's alternatives page.
5. Cognism
B2B sales intelligence platform with phone-verified contact data, intent signals and CRM integrations. Strong GDPR-compliant European mobile data. Built for outbound sales and marketing motions, not for registry-grade business data, KYB or compliance use cases. If your need is direct dials into European buyers, Cognism is competitive. If your need is verified registry data on the businesses themselves, CompanyData fits better. Full comparison on the Cognism alternatives page.
6. OpenCorporates
The largest open business directory in the world, with 200M+ records pulled directly from official registries across 200+ jurisdictions. Free for web search, with paid API tiers for systematic use. Strong on registry identifiers and basic firmographics, weaker on financials, contact data and ownership analysis. A natural complement to CompanyData for buyers who want a free baseline plus a commercial directory on top. Full comparison on the OpenCorporates alternatives page.
7. North Data
Germany-focused business intelligence built on Handelsregister and Unternehmensregister filings, plus event monitoring and network graphs. Excellent DACH depth and pricing. Limited reach outside German and neighbouring jurisdictions. If your work is DACH-only, North Data is a strong specialist. For a broader European or global footprint with the same registry-sourced quality, CompanyData covers far more jurisdictions. Full comparison on the North Data alternatives page.
8. Experian Business
Business credit reports from one of the largest global credit bureaus, with strong US and UK credit scores, payment history and risk data. KYB capabilities expanded through 2025 acquisitions. Best fit for credit-led decisioning and B2B lending. Less depth on private-business financials outside the US and UK. Enterprise pricing. Full comparison on the Experian Business alternatives page.
9. Creditsafe
Europe's most-used business credit platform, with 365M+ businesses, credit scores, financial data and portfolio monitoring. Trusted by 100,000+ businesses, especially strong across the UK, Benelux and continental Europe. Pricing starts around $99 per month, well below Moody's and Dun & Bradstreet but above our entry tier. Strong on credit-led use cases. Full comparison on the Creditsafe alternatives page.
10. Equifax Business
Major US credit bureau with commercial credit data on 88M+ US businesses. Strong US credit scoring and payment behaviour signals. Limited coverage outside North America compared to EU-native providers, but a credible US-only choice and a natural second opinion alongside Dun & Bradstreet. Enterprise pricing. Full comparison on the Equifax Business alternatives page.

No. Same founders, same team, same Amsterdam headquarters, same registry-first business directory product. The rename was a brand simplification, not a restructuring or acquisition. We are the same business we were the day before the announcement.

Where is the new Dubai office?
Our Middle East office is in Building A1, Dubai Digital Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis. It sits alongside our Amsterdam headquarters at Vijzelgracht 53D and our Berlin office at Friedrichstrasse 123, supporting customers across the MENA region.
