Where does company revenue data come from?
In much of Europe, businesses above certain size thresholds must file annual accounts with the trade register, which makes revenue public record. Countries like Denmark and France publish structured financials for large parts of the register; others only for large entities.
Where filings are not public, notably for most private businesses in the United States, revenue is estimated from employee counts, industry benchmarks and other observable signals. A revenue figure marked as projected should be read as a well-informed range, not an audited number; the record shows which kind you are looking at.
