The stakes

Compliance has a storage problem. Every KYC and KYB check produces sensitive data: passports, addresses, ownership records, director names. Most platforms pile that data into one central database. That database becomes the most attractive target in the company, and every breach report shows what happens when it gets hit.

The obvious answer is to store less. That is easy to say and hard to build, because compliance checks still need facts. If you will not keep a big copy of the world, you need a source you can ask, every time, that is authoritative enough to rely on.

The mandate

Zyphe runs KYC, KYB and AML checks on a privacy-first design. There is no central store of personal data. Data is encrypted and split across tens of thousands of nodes, and can only be rebuilt with enough of the pieces. On top of that, Zyphe runs AI agents that triage screening alerts and prepare case files for a human to sign off.

For the business side, Zyphe needed company data that fits that design. No bulk copy of global registries sitting on its own servers. A live answer from the official source at the moment of the check, with the facts a KYB decision needs: does the company exist, is it active, what is its identifier, who are its directors, where is it registered.

What we supply

Live registry lookups through our company data API. Zyphe asks about one company when a check runs and gets back the current registry record: legal name, registration number, legal form, status, registered address and officers. 374 million companies across 200+ countries, sourced from official registers.

The data stays at the source until it is needed. Zyphe takes what the check requires, and nothing more.

What changed

Zyphe's KYB checks run on registry truth without breaking the privacy model the platform is built on. Its AI agents get something they badly need: authoritative company facts to compare an alert against. When a screening hit names a company with a similar name in another country, the registry record settles it. False positives get cleared on evidence instead of guesswork.

Why it matters

Privacy-first compliance only works if the facts are a call away. We are that call.
