What Is the Zefix API?
Zefix is the Swiss central business name index, operated federally on top of the 26 cantonal trade registers. Every entry carries the UID number in the CHE-123.456.789 format.
The Zefix Public REST API is free, but credentials are provisioned by email request, and the index only covers what Zefix itself holds: name, seat, legal form, status, purpose and publication history. Directors and signatories sit in unstructured cantonal excerpts, NOGA industry codes live in a non-public statistical register, and financial statements are simply not filed by non-listed Swiss businesses.
