Here is what most "best B2B data providers in Belgium" lists will not tell you: half of the familiar Belgian brands quietly changed owners in the last three years, one of the best tools on this list is completely free, and the global platforms everyone recommends barely touch the Belgian register. We spent a week untangling who actually owns what, what each provider is genuinely good at, and where you are simply overpaying.

This guide ranks 13 providers on merit. We sell Belgian business data ourselves, so instead of putting our own logo at number one and calling it objective, you will find our pitch in a clearly marked box further down. Deal? Then let's start with the cheat sheet.

1. CompanyData

Full disclosure: where CompanyData fits in

We publish this guide and we sell Belgian business data, so here is our pitch in plain sight instead of disguised as a number one ranking. CompanyData delivers registry-sourced Belgian records, KBO numbers, NACE codes, size class and contact fields included, in the exact same schema we use for 200+ other markets.

Around 500 Belgian customers work with us today, most of them in Flanders. They usually mention the same two reasons: our sales team speaks Dutch, so you are not explaining a Flemish market to someone in another timezone, and we go deeper than most on the fields nobody else fills in, personal email addresses, direct mobile numbers and group relations.

When should you pick us over the locals above? When Belgium is one of several markets you need. The specialists beat us on Belgian credit scores; nobody on this page beats one platform, one API and one file format from Antwerp to Auckland. Self-serve from €25 a month, custom Excel or CSV files within 24 hours.

That last number is the rare one: 725,690 Belgian legal entities in our records come with ownership structure links, showing who owns whom across borders. Among the providers above, only the Dun & Bradstreet network (Altares) carries comparable hierarchy data.

2. Companyweb: the accountant's default

Still the safest pick for Belgian credit checks, even now that it answers to a global group.

Ask any Belgian accountant which tool they check before taking on a client, and the answer is usually Companyweb. It is the official supplier of both accounting institutes (ITAA and IBR), and it layers a health barometer, credit limits, payment experience and legal alerts on top of KBO, NBB and Staatsblad data. In January 2025 it was acquired by Altares Dun & Bradstreet, a move that says more about how good its Belgian SME coverage is than anything we could write here. It still runs under its own brand from Vilvoorde.

Vilvoorde, Belgium · Subscription, 7-day free trial · Built on: KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts, Staatsblad, Payment pool

✓ Why it stands out

  • The deepest local credit intelligence, including its own payment data
  • Alerts and portfolio monitoring built in
  • Trusted default of the entire Belgian accounting profession

⚠ Watch out for

  • Covers Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands only
  • Built for checks and monitoring, not bulk prospecting exports
  • Independent no more since the 2025 acquisition

3. GraydonCreditsafe: credit risk at volume

The biggest credit-information player in the market, best when you monitor hundreds of relations, not five.

Graydon had been scoring Belgian businesses since 1981 when Creditsafe bought it in 2022 and merged the two into GraydonCreditsafe. The result is the volume player: one of Belgium's largest payment-experience pools, mature monitoring and decisioning tools, debt collection, and international credit reports through the same contract. If your finance team manages risk across a whole portfolio, this is the machine built for that job.

Antwerp, Belgium · Quote-based subscription · Built on: KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts, Staatsblad, Payment pool

✓ Why it stands out

  • One of the largest Belgian payment-experience pools
  • International reports under one contract
  • Mature monitoring, decisioning and collection tooling

⚠ Watch out for

  • No public pricing, everything is quote-based
  • Prospecting data is clearly second fiddle to risk
  • Contracts sized for teams, overkill for one-off checks

The only provider with an editorial layer: management names, rankings and sector knowledge going back to 1978.

Trends Business Information, part of media group Roularta, publishes the famous Trends Top rankings and sells data on 400,000+ Belgian businesses enriched with management names, contact details and financial key figures. Its roots go back to the TOP 1,000 of 1978, and it absorbed B-information and the business-information arm of ex-Bisnode Belgium along the way. For sales teams that want lists with actual decision-maker names on them, this is the strongest local option, and it is the largest provider still in fully Belgian hands.

Roeselare, Belgium · Per-seat licences · Built on: KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts, Own editorial research

✓ Why it stands out

  • Management and contact layer nobody else maintains locally
  • Sector rankings and benchmarks with real editorial history
  • The largest fully Belgian-owned provider

⚠ Watch out for

  • Focused on the larger end of the market, not all 2M+ entities
  • Licence model aimed at marketing and sales teams
  • Lighter API story than the developer-first options

5. Data.be: the developer's shortcut

If Belgian registry data needs to live inside your own product, start here.

Data.be calls itself the first API provider for Belgian business information, and the claim holds up. A free VAT-lookup tier handles quick checks, and the REST API serves KBO records, Staatsblad publications and annual accounts at scale; it is a listed source in Signicat's verification stack, which tells you KYB platforms take it seriously. No scoring layer, no dashboard theatre. Just clean registry data over an API, priced in credits.

Belgium · Free VAT lookup, paid API credits · Built on: KBO/BCE, Staatsblad, NBB annual accounts

✓ Why it stands out

  • Clean REST API with a genuinely free tier
  • Official sources, continuously refreshed
  • Simple credit-based pricing that scales with you

⚠ Watch out for

  • Belgium only
  • No credit scores or analytics layer
  • A small organisation compared to the bureaus

6. Bizzy: registry data, but fun

The Ghent scale-up that made looking up a Belgian business feel like a consumer app, for free.

Founded in 2021, Bizzy took the dusty world of registry lookups and gave it a consumer-grade interface: free search over KBO, Staatsblad and NBB filings, with financials and director networks visualised so well you actually enjoy the research. In June 2025 it raised €4M to push its AI sales agent across Europe, now covering 34M businesses. The energy in the Belgian market is unmistakably here; just do not expect credit scores or bulk exports yet.

Ghent, Belgium · Free search, paid sales tooling · Built on: KBO/BCE, Staatsblad, NBB annual accounts

✓ Why it stands out

  • Free, fast and genuinely pleasant to use
  • Financials and director networks visualised beautifully
  • AI prospecting layer on top of registry data

⚠ Watch out for

  • Young product with a fast-moving roadmap
  • No credit scoring
  • Bulk export and API options still limited

7. Staatsbladmonitor: the free watchlist

The best zero-cost monitoring tool in the country. Lawyers and journalists live in it.

Staatsbladmonitor tracks every Belgisch Staatsblad publication, from incorporations to dissolutions, and emails you daily alerts on the entities you follow. Annual-account figures and ratios included, price tag: zero. It is not a dataset you can export and it will not win design awards, but as a watchlist it has quietly become the default for lawyers, journalists and credit controllers alike.

Belgium · Free · Built on: Staatsblad, KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts

✓ Why it stands out

  • Completely free, including daily email alerts
  • Full publication history per entity
  • Financial ratios included

⚠ Watch out for

  • No API or bulk export
  • Built for lookups and alerts, not datasets
  • Ad-supported interface

8. Altares Dun & Bradstreet: for D-U-N-S thinkers

The route into the D&B universe for Benelux enterprises, now with Companyweb's local depth bolted on.

Altares is the exclusive Dun & Bradstreet partner for the Benelux and France: D-U-N-S numbers, global credit ratings, corporate hierarchies and master-data management for enterprises that operate across borders. Its most interesting move was buying Companyweb in January 2025, an admission that global networks need local granularity. If your organisation already thinks in D-U-N-S numbers, this is your Belgian counter.

Dilbeek, Belgium · Enterprise contracts · Built on: D&B WorldBase, KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts

✓ Why it stands out

  • D-U-N-S numbering and global corporate hierarchies
  • 500M+ business profiles worldwide under one roof
  • Strong compliance and master-data tooling

⚠ Watch out for

  • Enterprise pricing and sales cycle
  • Local SME depth came via acquisition, not organically
  • Heavy for teams that only need Belgian checks

9. Bel-first: the analyst's deep dive

Moody's structured-financials powerhouse for Belgium and Luxembourg. Analysts love it, everyone else finds it heavy.

Bel-first is the national product of Bureau van Dijk, the Brussels-founded firm Moody's acquired in 2017. It packs detailed financials, directors and ownership structures on roughly 5.6M Belgian and Luxembourg entities, with screening and peer-analysis tools built for people who model rather than browse. Standard equipment for financial analysis, transfer pricing and academic research; oversized for a quick credit check.

Brussels, Belgium · Enterprise licence · Built on: NBB annual accounts, KBO/BCE, Staatsblad

✓ Why it stands out

  • The deepest structured financials and ownership trees
  • Powerful screening, peer groups and benchmarking
  • Plugs into Orbis for cross-border research

⚠ Watch out for

  • Enterprise licence, priced accordingly
  • Heavy for simple lookups or monitoring
  • No prospecting or contact focus

10. Vadis Technologies: third-party risk, sorted

A Brussels TPRM specialist that impressed Moody's enough to buy it. For procurement and compliance teams only.

Founded in Brussels in 2003 and now a Moody's business, Vadis scores and monitors third parties end to end: registry and financial data combined with sanctions, PEP and adverse signals in one continuous risk view. It is built for procurement and compliance teams that need to watch suppliers, not for sales teams hunting prospects. Narrow, but very good at what it does.

Brussels, Belgium · SaaS, quote-based · Built on: KBO/BCE, NBB annual accounts, Moody's network

✓ Why it stands out

  • 360-degree third-party risk scoring
  • Continuous monitoring instead of point-in-time checks
  • Moody's data network behind it

⚠ Watch out for

  • Narrow use case outside procurement and compliance
  • Quote-based enterprise pricing
  • Not a source you can export data from

11. North Data: Europe in one schema

The cross-border research tool: 26 European registers, Belgium included, normalised into one interface.

North Data normalises official register data from 26 European countries into one interface and API: 96M+ entities with people, financial indicators and network graphs that connect a Belgian BV to its German GmbH sister in two clicks. It is a research and OSINT power tool rather than a credit bureau, and its Belgian layer sits alongside a German-market heritage. For cross-border digging on a budget, it is hard to beat.

Hamburg, Germany · Free search, Premium and API tiers · Built on: KBO/BCE, 26 European registers

✓ Why it stands out

  • 26 European countries in one consistent format
  • Free search plus an affordable Premium tier
  • Network graphs that cross borders

⚠ Watch out for

  • No Belgian credit or payment layer
  • Depth varies by country
  • Contact data is not the focus

12. Infobel PRO: Brussels brand, global data

Belgium's most international data brand, stronger abroad than at home.

Born in Brussels in 1995 as Kapitol, Infobel PRO licenses contact and firmographic data on 375M+ businesses worldwide, with POI and KYB datasets on top. Its parent changed hands in 2025 but the brand and the Brussels HQ remain. The paradox: for a Belgian brand, its edge is everywhere except Belgium, where registry depth is not its game. Buy it for worldwide breadth, not for KBO detail.

Brussels, Belgium · Datasets, licences and API · Built on: Own worldwide collection, Public sources

✓ Why it stands out

  • 375M+ business records across 200+ markets
  • POI and location datasets alongside firmographics
  • Flexible delivery: files, licences, API

⚠ Watch out for

  • Belgian registry depth is not the differentiator
  • No credit or risk products
  • Licensing suits volume buyers more than small teams

13. Adhocdata: slick tool, thin data

A Dutch list-builder with one of the nicest interfaces in the Benelux; check the Belgian depth before you pay.

Over in the Netherlands, Adhocdata built the kind of self-serve list builder the bureaus should envy: pick a region and a sector, watch the counter update live, pay per record and download your Belgian prospect list in minutes, no sales call required. The tool is the star of the show. The data behind it is sourced in rather than registry-deep, and Belgian coverage lags the local specialists on this page. Fine for a quick campaign list; look elsewhere for finance or compliance work.

Netherlands · Pay per record, self-serve · Built on: Purchased directories, Public sources

✓ Why it stands out

  • One of the smoothest self-serve list builders around
  • Transparent pay-per-record pricing
  • Instant download, no contract, no sales call

⚠ Watch out for

  • Belgian depth lags the local registry specialists
  • Sourced-in data rather than registry-first
  • No financials or credit layer

14. Kompass Belgium: the exporter's directory

A product taxonomy deeper than any NACE code, wrapped in an interface from another era.

The Belgian arm of the worldwide Kompass directory network classifies businesses by a product and service taxonomy that goes deeper than any activity code, which is exactly why exporters and industrial buyers still swear by it. EasyBusiness is the prospecting front end. Skip it for finance or compliance work; shortlist it if you need to find every Belgian manufacturer of, say, industrial valves.

Brussels, Belgium · EasyBusiness subscription · Built on: Own directory research

✓ Why it stands out

  • Product taxonomy deeper than NACE codes
  • Worldwide directory network
  • Established export-marketing tooling

⚠ Watch out for

  • Directory data, not registry or financial depth
  • The interface shows its age
  • Coverage skews industrial

Three years that reshaped Belgian business data

To understand today's market you need the backstory. Between 2022 and 2025, nearly every familiar Belgian data brand changed hands. Here is the wave in order:

2021 · Bisnode Belgium is carved up

After D&B acquires the Bisnode group, the Belgian business-information arm ends up with Roularta's Trends Business Information via Black Tiger.

Feb 2022 · Creditsafe buys Graydon

Atradius sells Graydon, active in Belgium since 1981, to Creditsafe. The Belgian entities merge into GraydonCreditsafe.

Jan 2025 · Altares D&B buys Companyweb

The D&B partner for Benelux acquires the accountant's favourite credit tool, adding deep Belgian SME coverage to a global network.

2025 · Moody's takes Vadis, Kapitol changes hands

Brussels TPRM specialist Vadis becomes a Moody's business, and Infobel parent Kapitol is acquired by the Datasharp holding.

Jun 2025 · Bizzy raises €4M

While the old guard consolidates, the Ghent scale-up gets funding to take its AI sales agent across Europe. New blood at last.

So who is still actually Belgian?

If local ownership matters to you, for procurement rules, neutrality or plain principle, this is the state of play in 2026:

Still Belgian-owned

  • Trends Top / Trends Business Information (Roularta)
  • Data.be
  • Staatsbladmonitor
  • Bizzy

Belgian brand, global owner

  • Companyweb (Altares Dun & Bradstreet, since 2025)
  • GraydonCreditsafe (Creditsafe Group, since 2022)
  • Bel-first (Bureau van Dijk) (Moody's, since 2017)
  • Vadis Technologies (Moody's, since 2025)
  • Infobel PRO (Kapitol) (Datasharp, since 2025)
  • Kompass Belgium (Kompass International)

Why Belgian business data is unusually good

Almost everything on this page flows from three public institutions. Every legal entity carries a single ten-digit number from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO/BCE) that follows it across VAT, social security and the courts, which makes Belgian records unusually easy to match. Most legal entities must file annual accounts with the National Bank, and every incorporation or board change is published in the Belgisch Staatsblad. The providers above differ in the layer they build on top: scoring, monitoring, contacts or APIs.

You can consult all three sources yourself, for free:

Four questions before you sign anything

1. What do they add beyond the register? Everyone starts from the same KBO, NBB and Staatsblad data. You pay for the layer on top: scoring, payment experience, contacts or an API. Make each vendor name theirs.

2. One job or five? Credit checks, developer APIs, prospecting, deep analysis and cross-border coverage are five different jobs. Buying one tool for all five usually means overpaying for four.

3. Does ownership matter to you? After the buyout wave, several familiar local brands answer to global groups. Mostly that improves the product; if neutrality or data residency matters, check the list above.

4. Can they show a GDPR paper trail? Registry facts are public, but director names and contact details are personal data. Ask for the legal basis per record type and a working opt-out before anything hits your CRM.

Frequently asked questions

The unique ten-digit registration number the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises assigns to every Belgian legal entity, starting with 0 or 1. Add the BE prefix and you have the VAT number. Any provider worth paying for keys its Belgian records on it.
Four solid options: the official KBO Public Search for registry details, the NBB's CBSO Consult for filed annual accounts, Staatsbladmonitor for publications and free alerts, and Bizzy for a modern search over all of it. Bulk lists, APIs and credit scores are where the paid providers come in.
Yes. Most Belgian legal entities must file annual accounts with the National Bank's Central Balance Sheet Office, and anyone can consult them for free. Smaller entities file an abbreviated schema with limited detail, which is exactly why providers that add payment experience and scoring earn their keep.
Because they solve a different problem. ZoomInfo, Apollo and the other global sales-intelligence platforms are strong at contact data and buying signals, but they source little from the KBO and hold thin Belgian coverage. For registry facts, financials and credit decisions in Belgium, the providers on this page run circles around them.
Decide by job, not by size. For Belgian credit decisions, local payment-experience pools are unbeatable. For a CRM spanning ten markets, one platform with one schema everywhere saves you ten integrations. Plenty of Belgian teams sensibly run one of each.
It can be, and good providers make it easy to verify. Registry facts about legal entities are public data; director names, mobile numbers and email addresses are personal data that need a legal basis, typically legitimate interest with a clear opt-out. Ask for the provenance trail before importing.
