Thailand Company Register: How to Search the DBD DataWarehouse+ and Verify Thai Companies (2026)

Thailand puts a company's revenue and profit on the free public record. Search the Department of Business Development's DataWarehouse+ and you get the directors, the rule for who may sign, the capital, and the key figures from five years of filed accounts, with no account and no fee. The catch is the language: the full record is in Thai, and the English view leaves the directors out. This guide covers 1,016,409 registered entities: how to search them, what the official documents cost, and how to verify a Thai company step by step.

1. What is the Thai company register?

Thai partnerships and companies are registered with the Department of Business Development (กรมพัฒนาธุรกิจการค้า, DBD), part of the Ministry of Commerce. Limited companies and partnerships are formed under the Civil and Commercial Code, and public limited companies under the Public Limited Companies Act B.E. 2535 (1992). Founders used to file on paper at a DBD office in Bangkok or at a provincial commerce office. Since 1 July 2026, new company and partnership registrations go through the online DBD Biz Regist system only, and the paper walk-in channel has ended.

What sets Thailand apart is what the DBD publishes. Limited companies, public companies, and registered partnerships all file annual financial statements with an auditor's report, and the DBD puts the key figures from the last five filed years on its free search: revenue, cost of sales, net profit, total assets, liabilities, and equity. Profit and loss sit on the free record itself, not in a paid document.

SystemWhat it holdsAccess
DBD DataWarehouse+ datawarehouse.dbd.go.thRegistration number, status, type, capital, directors and signing rules, TSIC business codes, five years of financial statement highlights, investment by nationality, name and capital historyFree, no account
DBD e-Service ebiz.dbd.go.thCertificates of registered particulars (หนังสือรับรอง), certified copies of registration documents, copies of filed financial statements and shareholder listsPaid, per item or per page
DBD e-Filing efiling.dbd.go.thWhere companies and partnerships file their annual financial statements. A filing channel with its own login, not a search toolFor filers only
Business Data Exchange (BDEX) bdex.dbd.go.thThe DBD's official data link for government and private systems, with eight data sets including registration data, shareholder lists, and financial statementsBy application, fees set by law
Commercial registration district offices and municipalitiesSole traders and unregistered ordinary partnerships, registered under the Commercial Registration Act B.E. 2499 with the local authoritySeparate from the juristic person search

In short: DataWarehouse+ tells you a company exists, who runs it, and how it performs; e-Service gives you the certified document; and anything that is not a juristic person, such as a one-owner shop, sits in a separate local register.

3. What data is public and what it costs

Thailand gives away almost everything a person can read on screen and charges small, fixed fees for anything certified. For partnerships and limited companies the fees are set by a Ministerial Regulation in force since 1 January 2021, linked from the DBD's fee table, and the certificate, copy, inspection, and data rows below are those rates. The delivery charges come from the DBD's e-Certificate leaflet. Public limited companies have a fee regulation of their own.

Computer data extractPaid800 baht per request plus 0.30 baht per record
Data link from DBD systems to yoursPaid3,000 baht to install, 30 baht per data set

Two things stand out. First, revenue and net profit are free for every company that files, and filing is not optional: companies present their accounts to a shareholders' meeting within four months and file them within one month of approval, while registered partnerships, foreign juristic persons, and joint ventures file within five months of the year end. Second, the free view is not a legal document. DataWarehouse+ says so on every record, so certified proof means a certificate from e-Service.

What you will not find on the record: a phone number, an email address, or an employee count. The only contact field is Website, and for a company the size of PTT it reads "-". Shareholder names are not on the free record either; you see the split by nationality, and the record offers the list itself as a paid copy.

5. How to verify a Thai company: a practical checklist

  1. Confirm the registration number and the status

    Search the 13-digit number on DataWarehouse+ and check that the Thai name, type, and head office match what you were given. Read the status field: ยังดำเนินกิจการอยู่ means operating, while values such as เลิก (dissolved) or ร้าง (removed from the register) mean it is no longer an active company. For a quick first pass, our free company lookup finds the registration and revenue data in one search.
  2. Check who may sign, and how

    The Thai record names the directors who can bind the company and the exact rule. PTT's reads that the chief executive (กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่) signs with the company seal, or two named directors sign jointly with the seal. Check that the person signing your contract fits that rule, and whether the seal is required.
  3. Look past the registered capital

    A limited company only needs 25% of its share value paid up, so registered capital alone can flatter a small company. A public company's record, like PTT's, shows registered and paid-up capital side by side, but a limited company's record shows registered capital only, so ask for the paid-up figure or check equity on the financial statements tab. The change history tab lists every change in registered capital with its date.
  4. Read the five years of figures

    Open the financial statements tab and look at revenue, net profit, and equity over the five filed years. Check the list of filed years as well: a missing year in a company that must file every year is a signal worth asking about.
  5. Check the business type and foreign ownership

    The record shows the TSIC code from registration and the one from the latest filing, and they can differ: PTT registered under 71209, other technical testing and analysis, and files under 19201, manufacture of refinery petroleum products. If foreign ownership matters to your deal, the investment-by-nationality tab splits the shares into Thai and foreign holdings.
  6. Order a certificate for anything that matters

    DataWarehouse+ data cannot be used as a legal reference, so for a bank account, a tender, or a large contract, order a certificate of registered particulars (หนังสือรับรอง) through DBD e-Service; the button sits on the record itself, and for a limited company or partnership it costs 40 baht per item. The electronic version carries a digital signature and can be checked by QR code or on the DBD website for up to one year after issue.

6. Limitations of the official register

To be clear: for a handful of lookups, DataWarehouse+ gives you directors, signing rules, and five years of figures, and it costs nothing. The limits show up when you need English, scale, or a certified document:

  • Not a legal reference. Every record carries the DBD's own note that the data is general information for public service and cannot be used as a legal reference. Certified proof means a paid certificate from e-Service.
  • The English view is a summary. It drops the directors, the signing rule, and the head office address, and the director names on the Thai record are in Thai script only.
  • Name search in Latin script is unreliable. "PTT" returned 490 entities without PTT itself on the first page. The Thai name or the 13-digit number works far better.
  • Five years, key items only. The financial tab shows the latest five filed years and only the main line items. Older years and the full statements are paid copies from DBD e-Service.
  • No shareholder names on the free record. You get the split by nationality, and the record offers the shareholder list itself as a paid copy.
  • No contact data. No phone, no email, no employee count, and a Website field that reads "-" even for PTT.
  • Result lists stop at 1,000 pages. A search for "ก่อสร้าง" (construction) matched more than 295,000 entities and showed 1,000 pages of ten, and the Excel or PDF printout covers the first 1,000 rows.
  • The official data link needs approval. BDEX access starts with an application, the DBD decides based on who you are and what you will use the data for, and private users pay the statutory fees before the link goes live.

If you check one Thai supplier a quarter, none of this matters. If you onboard hundreds, it is the whole problem.

7. Access DBD register data programmatically

CompanyData maintains a normalized database of all 1,016,409 Thai entities, sourced directly from the Department of Business Development's register and refreshed as new filings appear. Records are enriched with employee counts and contact data that the official register does not publish.

Our Company Data API lets you look up any Thai entity by registration number or name and get structured JSON back in real time, with 150 free lookups to start and no BDEX application to file first. It is used by developers, banks, and insurers across 190+ countries, so Thai checks work exactly like checks anywhere else.

Example: look up a company by registration number

GET /v1/companies?country=TH&registration_id=0107544000108

{
  "name": "บริษัท ปตท. จำกัด (มหาชน)",
  "legal_form": "บริษัทมหาชนจำกัด",
  "registration_id": "0107544000108",
  "city": "กรุงเทพมหานคร",
  "status": "ยังดำเนินกิจการอยู่"
}

Every value above is copied from the DataWarehouse+ record in the screenshot, in the Thai the register itself uses. Employee counts and contact details come back on the same record where we hold them, and are absent here for the reason this guide keeps running into: the DBD record does not publish them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Thailand DBD DataWarehouse+.

Yes. DBD DataWarehouse+ is free and needs no account. The record shows the registration number, status, capital, directors, the signing rule, and key figures from the last five filed financial statements. Certified documents cost money: for a limited company or partnership, a certificate of registered particulars is 40 baht per item and a certified copy is 50 baht per page.
Thirteen digits, written without spaces, for example 0107544000108 for PTT Public Company Limited. Searching DataWarehouse+ on the full number opens the record directly. Older entities also show a former registration number in an older format, such as PTT's บมจ.671, so check that field if you were given something shorter.
Partly. DataWarehouse+ has an EN switch that translates the labels, shows the English name, and converts Buddhist Era dates to the Western calendar. The English record leaves out the directors, the signing rule, and the head office address, though, and name searches in Latin script return loose matches. For anything you rely on, read the Thai record.
Yes, but not an open one. The DBD has offered web services since 2008 and replaced them with the Business Data Exchange (BDEX), with eight data sets including registration data, shareholder lists, and financial statements. You apply at bdex.dbd.go.th, the DBD decides based on your organisation and purpose, and private users pay the fees set by law before the link goes live. The fee regulation prices a data link from DBD systems at 3,000 baht to install and 30 baht per data set. For immediate structured access, use our Company Data API.
Yes, and the summary is free. DataWarehouse+ shows the main balance sheet and income statement items, including total revenue and net profit, for the last five filed years. Full statements and older years come as paid copies from DBD e-Service. For statements at scale, see our Thai company records with financials.
Open the company on DataWarehouse+ in Thai. The record lists every registered director and, separately, the directors authorised to sign and the rule they sign under, for example two directors jointly with the company seal. The English view does not show the directors at all.
Order a certificate of registered particulars (หนังสือรับรอง) through DBD e-Service. For a limited company or partnership it costs 40 baht per item, such as directors, signing authority, capital, or head office, and one request covers up to five entities. You can receive it as an electronic file or pick it up at no delivery charge, or by EMS for 65 baht. The electronic file carries a digital signature and can be checked by QR code for up to one year.
ยังดำเนินกิจการอยู่ means operating. ฟื้นฟู means under business rehabilitation and คืนสู่ทะเบียน means restored to the register, and DataWarehouse+ counts both with operating entities. เลิก means dissolved, เสร็จการชำระบัญชี liquidation completed, ร้าง removed from the register, พิทักษ์ทรัพย์เด็ดขาด under absolute receivership, ล้มละลาย bankrupt, ควบ amalgamated, แปรสภาพ converted, and สิ้นสภาพ ceased to exist.
On the free record, only in outline. The investment-by-nationality tab splits the share capital into Thai and foreign holdings, based on the latest shareholder list or partner list filed. The names are on the shareholder list itself, which you order as a paid copy through DBD e-Service; inspecting a limited company's list costs 50 baht.
No. A sole trader is not a juristic person and does not get a 13-digit juristic person number. Sole traders and unregistered ordinary partnerships in the trades that must register do so under the Commercial Registration Act B.E. 2499, with their district office in Bangkok or the local municipality or subdistrict administration elsewhere, for a 50 baht fee, and do not appear in the DataWarehouse+ juristic person search.
